Comiqs is new web application aimed at social networking and recreation, but with some potential for presentations and educational activities. The site allows you to create comic strips using a small but versatile selection of design elements.
- Images can be uploaded, or imported from Flickr. They can then be dragged into panels on standard page layouts. Resizing and moving the image gives a different crop in each panel.
- Speech and thought bubbles can be used as intended, or positioned as call-outs to annotate diagrams and presentation slides.
- Text formatting is limited, but has good novelty value.
The flash interface is wonderfully simple to use.
The site itself has social networking features built in. Content from the site is sure to find its way into other networks through linking and embed tags.
